Back to school can be a stressful time, with the whole family having to get back into the mentality of go, go, go instead of those laid back summer days. If you have kids that are participating in school sports and extra-curricular activities, it can mean you have even more of a confusing schedule. You need to keep your children focused and organized to keep up with their hectic schedules, as well support them and cheer them on. We’ve got a few helpful hints adapted from Cy-Fair Magazine to get you through this school year:
Get Organized
Get the whole family in on the schedule and utilize tools such as the Cozi app, a scheduling program that you can access from any smart phone or computer to keep track of the times your kids have after school activities, when the big games are, and things like doctor’s appointments. You can also have a big whiteboard in the house that you update during the week that lets you know what’s going on at a glance.
Stay Positive
Be available as a cheering squad for your kids. Whether it’s on the field or off, let them know you support them and want them to succeed. Reward your kids for good grades, being involved in their community, and for their many accomplishments in athletics and other extra activities.
Stick Together
You are deserving of support as well for all the things you do as a mom. Find other women and men who have similar responsibilities as you and create your own support group. You can create lasting friendships through your peer groups as well as a system to help with some of your responsibilities. Ridesharing is a great way to get time to breathe and relax.
Just remember to have fun most of all. If you are having fun and being there for your kids, these school days will fly by so quickly! Make sure to create lasting memories and don’t forget to take plenty of pictures, they grow up so fast!
