Being a mom is more than a full time job and it’s hard finding time to squeeze in a fitness routine, but it certainly should be a priority! As the saying goes, your body is your only place to live, so if not for yourself, be healthy for your family! Here are five helpful tips to getting on track to a healthier you.
- Take advantage of any down time you may get throughout your day. Whether it’s ten minutes or thirty-five, make the most of the time you have to fit in some jumping jacks, a jog in place, work in some mountain climbers, or what have you. A little goes a long way overtime.
- Include your family! Nothing is better for the overall wellbeing of your family than getting into the habit of daily exercise. Adults should aim for at least thirty minutes of physical activity a day, while children and adolescents should have about an hour.
- Get creative! Don’t let the lack of equipment or a gym membership become an excuse for a lethargic lifestyle. Use the heavier objects you find around the home for a bit of strength training. You can even have a little extra fun and throw your smaller children in the mix!
- Use your resources. If you don’t know what type of exercise you should be doing, or if you get bored with the ones you know, research new ones! There are infinite amounts of videos and articles that show you new exercises you can do from home.
- Find a source of motivation. Set a goal for yourself, it can be something as simple as fitting into an old pair of jeans. Remember that regular exercise will improve your life’s longevity; giving you more time with the ones you love.
Now, are you ready to get on track and make a regular fitness plan for yourself? We hope all of our tips prove helpful to you! Get up and get moving!
