The Grinch who stole Christmas is a holiday classic we all grew up watching, and now our children will get to enjoy it as well! If your child is a picky eater like mine, here’s a fun and easy snack you both can prepare together that I found from Creative Kid Snacks. Letting your child be apart of the whole process! This healthy tasty snack is called Grinch Poppers.
Supplies:
– A stick of white string cheese
– Strawberries
-Bananas
-Green Grapes
-Hershey’s Chocolate Bar
– Tooth Picks
-Piping bag or zip lock baggie
Start these steps yourself by cutting:
-String Cheese stick 1/3 inch thick
-Banana slices 1/3 inch thick
-Green Grapes and Strawberries cut in half
Then pre-wash the strawberries, and grapes, and melt the bars of chocolate in the microwave. Put the melted chocolate in a piping bag, or if you’re using a zip lock bag, just cut the tip off one of the corners after pouring in the melted chocolate.
Place the fruit in separate bowls and place them on your table. Tell your kids to get a toothpick and a grape, and slide the grape onto the end of the toothpick. Next comes the banana slice, slide that on top. Third will be the strawberries to represent the Christmas hat, and then the round piece of string cheese to represent the tip of the hat.
Last step get your piped bag or baggie and you and your children can decorate and draw on the faces. Place these Grinch Poppers on the platter; you and your children can enjoy this healthy festive snack while watching Christmas favorites just like the Grinch.
