This simple Thai inspired noodle dish is a wonderful way to introduce new cuisine and culture into your families diet, and it’s delicious! I found this gem on A Beautiful Mess, and made my own tasty version. This recipe serves two typically, so you’ll need to double the measurements when cooking for more.

Ingredients:
6 oz. flat or fettuccinenoodles
2 cups of broccoli, cut into small pieces
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 teaspoon packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons rice vinegar
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

First start the cooking process for your noodles, then grab a wok or large pan and heat the sesame oil. Once that’s hot, add in the garlic, and after it cooks for a few seconds, toss in the broccoli.  I put in a few spoonfuls of the noodle water in as well to help cook the broccoli.

I also like my broccoli to stay a little crisp, so if my noodles are taking longer I’ll push my broccoli further up the wok so they take longer to cook. If you’re using a pan and want the same effect, just wait to cook the broccoli and garlic until the noodles are almost ready.

In a small bowl mix together the ingredients from soy sauce to the optional red pepper flakes.

Drain the noodles once ready and add them into your broccoli and garlic mixture. Then pour the sauce on top and let set for medium-heat heat until the most of the moisture is absorbed. Then sprinkle the cilantro and sesame seeds on top and enjoy!
