These healthy kabobs are an easy finger food, and a new treat for the little ones always on the go. For the curious kiddos, they can even be little helpers for this one!
All you need are skewers, and fruits, and/or vegetables; whatever produce the children love, or maybe something new they haven’t tried yet! Cherry tomatoes, kiwi, cauliflower, and grapefruit are some of our favorite additions. I’ll even cut up some different string cheese varieties packs like Colby -jack and mozzarella into cheese cube bits with fruit skewers, and pepper jack or cheddar squares for the veggie skewers!
Directions:
Pre-wash all the fruit and veggies, and peel any that need it. Cut the produce and cheese sticks to small to medium sized cubes, and place the fruit, cheese, and veggies into their own bowls.
If the kids want to join in, set the bowls on your kitchen table, and have the team gather around. Give each person a plate and two skewers, one for fruit and one for vegetables. Then, have them pick a piece from the bowls, slide the piece on, stacking one right on top of the other.
Once everyone is done, the bowls are empty and the skewers are full, you all can enjoy the healthy tasty snacks you just made! It can get a little messy but the little ones can enjoy getting to create their own little kabob treats. Have you created something like it before? We’d love to hear how your kabobs went in the comments below!
