Do you have a child learning how to count? Here is a learning activity you and your child can enjoy together. With the fall season around the corner, pumpkins can be found everywhere. At your local grocery store, farmers market, pumpkin patches, neighbors porch, and many other places. When we think of pumpkins fall season comes to mind, so we loved this pumpkin number match up game from Little Family Fun.
Supplies Needed:
-Orange construction paper
-Green marker
-Black marker
-Scissors
-Uncooked beans
-Table or flat surface
-Pencil
-Eraser
Start by drawing the outline of a pumpkin on the orange construction paper. You can make as many as you’d like; we did ten. Now take your green marker and color the stem on each pumpkin. Then label each pumpkin 1 through 10 (or however many you made). With your black marker add the eyes, nose and mouth of the pumpkins. This is time to whip up your silliest pumpkins faces!
Parents use the scissors and cut out your pumpkins. Once your done cutting them all out, place them on your table along with the beans and let your child start matching the right amount of beans to the pumpkin with the same number. You can also add in addition or subtraction into the mix with an extra plus or minus sign pumpkin. Your little pumpkin will be counting (and having fun) in no time!
