Let your child tune into their musical side with this paper plate banjo! Constructed from mostly simple household or crafting items, kids will love building and playing their new musical instrument!
What you will need:
- 2 thick-weight paper plates
- Paint color of your child’s choice
- Decorative kid stickers
- Stapler
- Paint stirring stick
- 3 black beads
- 3 large rubber bands
- Hot glue gun
How to make it:
1. Stack the two thick-weight paper plates on top of one another and staple them together to make the body of the banjo durable.
2. Have your child paint the paper plates and once dry, decorate them with stickers. Then add the three rubber bands across the banjo for the strings.
3. This you’ll do yourself: glue the one end of paint stick to the back of the stacked plates, and glue the three black beads to the very end of the stick at the top as the banjo’s pegs.
Finally, let your child put on a concert for you with their new banjo! Simple toys like this and the kazoo are wonderful ways to introduce kids to the world of music. Inspire them to explore their own musical interests!
