There is no other summer activity that is more classic than the lemonade stand! The best part about a stand is that while it’s affordable and entertaining, your child can learn basic math, budgeting and entrepreneurship as well.
Give your younger children the task of making the lemonade. This allows them to practice their measuring skills. Let them measure how many lemons to use and how many cups of sugar for each pitcher. You can also let them count out the number of ice cubes that will be used in each cup sold. They can also practice their letters while making the lemonade stand sign.
Have your older children handle the money. Let them make change for each customer and set the price per cup based on how much it costs to make each pitcher, setting a profit margin. Even after the lemonade is all gone, your children can continue learning with budgeting and saving money!
This activity is one that is useful for your child on various levels, so set up a stand and start learning!
