If your son is anything like mine he loves collecting cars, so I’ve incorporated them into our learning playtime. It’s time to bring the cars and trucks out and have some fun!
Activity One: Have your child use their cars to form letters of the alphabet. “A” for Apple, “B” for boy, and so on and so forth. This is a great way for your kiddo to practice their letters or basic spelling while playing at the same time.
Activity Two: You’ll need cars, construction paper, scissors, a blank sheet of paper, and colors. If your child isn’t old enough, cut out squares with different colors of construction paper yourself in varying sizes, and have your child lay them out on the floor.
With the blank sheet of paper make a grid and guess the number of cars that will fit on each square of construction paper. Now let your tot have fun trying to fit as many cars as he can onto each, matching the colored squares with the color car or truck. Then have your kiddo count the number of cars and record the total on the graph using the same color of crayon for each color of construction paper. This is a great way for your son to learn his colors, counting and graphs at the same time.
The next time your son or daughter wants to play with their cars, you’ll have this activity to do together!
