Your home is one place where you should feel comfortable and at ease. If you’re dealing with endless amounts of clutter and disorganization, these feelings of comfort may be difficult to come by. These five simple tips will give you a more organized home, allowing you to focus on the things that really matter.
1. One way to make sure you don’t misplace that important bill or letter is to use clothes pins to organize your mail. On different clothes pins, write words like “urgent,” “save,” or, “toss,” and clip your mail together in the respective categories.
2. If your family is one that likes to keep a few blankets in the living room for convenience, store them in a corner on a closed ladder to save space. This will keep your living room from looking cluttered and still allows your blankets to be close by for easy retrieval.
3. Instead of keeping your bracelets and watches to get lost in the mix of a jewelry box or drawer, use an old candle stick to store your arm candy. This will keep them organized and make it easier to find a specific piece.
4. On the inside of your pantry door, attach an over-the-door shoe organizer. Instead of storing shoes, store all of your kitchen needs like cleaning supplies, trash bags, or aluminum foil in the pouches.
5. Electric cords are notorious for getting tangled. To avoid having to untangle them, use office clips to keep them separated. Attach office clips to the edge of a table, and string each cord through the metal clasps, so that the ends of the cords are sticking out the top. This tip will save a lot of time and frustration.
