Reading is one of those timeless activities we can always do with our children. For more hesitant little ones, we have some tips to make it even more exciting. Not only is it a great way to connect with your kids, but it can also help instill a passion for reading!
Try some of these fun reading related activities:
- Act the story out using toys and stuffed animals.
- Make up your own alternate ending or climax of the story.
- Merge different characters from different stories, How would Little Bear react if he met Sam from Dr. Seuss?
- Illustrate your favorite parts of the story.
- Give each character their own dissect voice.
- Ask questions. Would you have done the same? Is that something you would enjoy doing? Do you think that was a good idea?
- Let your child read you the story.
- Take turns reading the pages or paragraphs.
