Head out to MFAH’s Bayou Bend for a knowledge hunt! Children ages six to twelve are tasked with solving a scavenger hunt while learning more about horticulture, American history, art, and design. Each explorer is even a magnifying glass, dossier, and clipboard to help along the way while searching the beautiful Houston estate. When their task is complete they receive a certificate of completion!
The age groups are broken up from six to nine and ten to twelve, and from June 1st to August 31st there will be a museum house and garden hunt for each age group.
Hunts in the Bayou Bend home are available during self-guided tour hours, 1pm to 4pm Friday through Sunday. Hunts in the fourteen-acre gardens are available 10am to 4pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1pm to 4pm on Sundays.
Children get in for free and adult tickets are $10 each. Have you been to a Detective Day or see the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens? Tell us about it below.
